AUCKLAND: Leading Outdoor business APN Outdoor, in partnership with the New Zealand Olympic Committee (NZOC) and Saatchi & Saatchi is taking Outdoor creativity to new heights with a one-of-a-kind creative execution driving awareness and support of the Winter Olympics.
The bespoke Outdoor campaign brings the Olympic spirit to the streets and can be seen on APN Outdoor’s Albert Street billboard site in Auckland’s CBD, attracting more than 2.2 million contacts a month.
The creative tagline “Anyone can fly, few can land” is complemented perfectly by aerial ski jumpers cleverly placed to go beyond the billboard canvas. The extensions are printed on perspex, adding approximately 1.5 metres in height to the existing site and creates the effect of the skier’s being airborne.
APN Outdoor New Zealand General Manager, Mike Watkins comments: “We are so pleased to work with Saatchi & Saatchi to further amplify the impact of our Outdoor formats and show our ongoing support to our partner, the NZOC and our athletes as they take on the world at the Olympic Games in PyeongChang and the Commonwealth Games through to 2020”.
NZOC Commercial Director Sharon van Gulik agrees. “We are so excited to partner with APN Outdoor. We knew that they would bring the very best in outdoor advertising, together with a commitment to creativity and pushing boundaries for our Team. What better way to tell the stories of our incredible Winter Olympians as they take on the world in PyeongChang”.
The execution is a first since APN Outdoor joined forces with the NZOC in November last year and is only the beginning of a series of creative executions expected over the next 2 years.
