AUCKLAND: In the spirit of supporting locals getting out and about, APN Outdoor has teamed up with three iconic arts and culture events, spanning the balmy February to April period in Auckland. With Auckland Arts Festival, Ben & Jerry’s Openair cinema and the pop-up Globe Theatre joining the long list of events supported by the Outdoor leaders, it’s bound to be a good end to the summer season for APN Outdoor and their clients and partners.
First cab off the rank is the Ben & Jerry’s Openair Cinema which is already in full swing, screening the latest blockbusters, Golden Globe winners, NZ shorts as well as favourite cult classics. This unique alfresco cinema shows movie goers a different way to go to the flicks, providing entertainment from local emerging musical talent as well as a great range of hospitality options, with extra ice cream of course! APN Outdoor became involved with the event because of the great synergy between the two brands as well as the unique client entertainment aspect that the cinema provides. As part of the partnership APN Outdoor will be hosting an exclusive VIP event today where guests will enjoy the full V.I.P treatment with a personalised roped off area whilst watching the critically acclaimed film ‘The Revenant’.
The already renowned pop-up Globe Theatre is also underway with 2016 being a significant year, as it marks 400 years since Shakespeare’s death. The full-scale, fully functioning replica of Shakespeare’s second Globe Theatre has been erected in Central Auckland and will feature some of the best known works until April 16th. This event is an amazing way to experience theatre as it would have been so many years ago with spectators being no more than 15m away from the action anywhere in the theatre. APN Outdoor’s involvement with the production speaks to the company’s commitment to supporting the cultural fabric of the city and its ability to host world class events such as this.
Opening March 2nd and running through until March 20th The Auckland Arts festival is another event the APN Outdoor is getting behind. Supporting the festivals continued growth and its ability to attract world class artists and performers is a key motivation of APN Outdoor’s involvement and the company’s ability to raise the profile of the event. APN Outdoor’s involvement, along with other supporters have helped 98,000 people enjoy free unforgettable arts events; over 7,000 school students attend shows and visual art events; and added to the vibrant cultural fabric, and economic social well-being of Auckland and the organisation is proud to be affiliated with such a long standing and culturally rich festival.
Phil Clemas, General Manager APN Outdoor New Zealand commented on the company’s ongoing support of Auckland’s Arts and Culture scene “Supporting and in turn having access to these incredible events provides us with yet another way to give back to our valued clients, partners, suppliers and the broader community. From our research and experience, we know that Outdoor has an amazing ability to build awareness for, and drive traffic to event’s and festivals in and around the city and we look forward to seeing these events really shine throughout the late summer months in Auckland.”
