Objective

Increase brand awareness and consideration leading into, and over, summer. Engage audiences with an innovative activation that ties in with famous Corona tag-line: 'From where you'd rather be'.

Approach

To quickly build brand awareness, a selection of high-impact digital touchpoints, close to popular beach locations, were booked. To maximise audience engagement, and bring the 'From where you'd rather be' tag-line to life, Corona are running a dynamic digital activation, using a weather API, that displays real-time surf conditions.

Execution

Corona Extra is bringing the surf to the city this summer with an innovative dynamic activation showing live surf conditions, including temperature, swell and wind direction, from popular beach locations across New Zealand. The activation is running across a selection JCDecaux's most premium assets, with beach locations displayed tailored to each panel. On Auckland sites data from Piha and Muriwai is running, in Tauranga data from Whangamata is running and in Dunedin data from St Kilda beach is displayed.
