As the cost of living rises, and household budgets are put under pressure, New Zealanders are tightening the purse strings; and for those with reduced disposable income, grocery shopping is an easy place to make cuts. Shoppers are increasingly paying close attention to what goes onto lists and into shopping trolleys.

Our latest JCDecaux IRIS audience research, conducted in May 2022 from a nationally representative Pureprofile panel of 600 consumers, looks at: 1) who the household shopper is in 2022, and 2) how inflation is impacting shopping behaviours.
